Increasing frequency and intensity of natural and man-made disasters, evolving infrastructure interdependence, continuous public engagement, interwoven social networks in disaster planning and management, climate change, and growing risk disparity in vulnerable communities are converging to reshape the resilience of cities. Our interdisciplinary research on smart and resilient cities addressing these rising challenges by integrating tools and insights from civil engineering, social science, public policy, urban planning, and network science.
Our research group is directed by Dr. Shangjia Dong at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Delaware. We welcome sustaining and synergistic collaborations with agencies, practitioners, and academic research communities. For further information, please contact Dr. Shangjia Dong.
